My Kentucky Cancer Story

Video And Photo Essay Project

Kentuckians have endured the highest cancer and lowest education attainment rates in the nation.  Through one of the most innovative public education/research programs in the country, Dataseam works with Kentucky schools and universities to place computer technology in classrooms across the state.  These technologies not only help students achieve more, but also power the cutting edge research and discovery at James Graham Brown Cancer Center of potential new life saving drugs to fight cancer.

Kentucky students use the computers to communicate around the world; create movies, podcasts and blogs; and transform rural classrooms into 21st Century learning environments.  Scientists use the combined processing power to create the nation’s leading pipeline of potential drugs.

While we are making progress, many Kentucky families continue to battle cancer. These personal struggles impact the lives of whole families.

We want to know your story, the story about your family, your grandparents, your parents, aunts, uncles or friends.  Give us your perspective of their fight and their life.

How has cancer affected your life?
